Organisation Description
The Secondary School of Applied Arts is a state school whose history dates from the second half of the 19th century, the time of the beginnings of keyboard instrument production in Bohemia, associated with the name of Antonín Petrof.
Gradually, the school focused on the education of cabinetmakers, today’s artistic study fields focused on design are stillclosely related to the tradition of working with wood. The founder is the Hradec Králové Region, the school is specific forthe unique fields of study it of study. Complete secondary vocational education, secondary vocational education,extracurricular education and accommodation are provided here. The project was focused on all study fields – high school
graduation fields Interior Design, Industrial Design, Artistic Woodworking (carpentry, carving), Musical Instrument Craft (guitar maker, piano maker), Furniture Design and Construction, Joiner apprenticeship and full-time two-year extension study Furniture and Woodworking. Around 300 students study in these fields annually. Around 50 teachers work there, teachers of vocational
subjects often work part-time in the school.
