Starting from 1992, Școala Postliceală Sanitară represents an important educational institution in Olt County, activating in the domain of “Health and Educational Assistance”. Școala Postliceală Sanitară is geographically situated in the Westside of Slatina town, within the Olt County. Our post-high school educational unit offers educational services for the young and adults in Slatina and additional towns, acting by the public budget’s funds and extra-budget funds assured by the students in tax places. Presently, we have 22 classrooms and on the official documents there are 60 teachers, 5 auxiliary employees and one worker. Over 70% of the human resource have professional qualification by the educational degrees they obtained.
The school’s mission is to assure a high quality education, based on intellectual, social and professional education development of the young in order to adapt to the professional requirements in health domain which are continuously changing.
In our school’s vision, the nursing profession is aimed to find those persons who are capable to responsibly act in humanitarian situations, to do good things, driven by the immaterial and divine spirit, so that to be able to care and offer comfort to the sick human being, no matter the origin, religion, age, sex or others.
Our educational offer includes 5 authorized qualifications, as it follows: Hospital Nurse; Pharmacy nurse; Laboratory nurse; physical therapy nurse and medical recovering; Hygiene and public health nurse.
Școala Postliceală Sanitară is the only state educational unit in Olt County which forms the persons for the specialities we presented above.
In the last years, the school has improved substantially, by increasing the attendance situation and by increasing the number of young persons demanding these qualifications, aged over 20.
The school has 12 classrooms, one informatics laboratory with internet connection (21 computers), 2 practical rooms in medical domain, one chemistry laboratory, one pharmacy laboratory, one practical rooms for the students attending the physical therapy and medical recovery profile.
In order to assure the clinical training, our school has low opportunities regarding quality and quantity to offer practical studies at European level, given the poor number of sanitary units in Slatina and the poor level of modernization in the medical institutions.
