  • The Erasmus experience of this centre We only have limited experience: Since 2015 we have been coordinating VET Internships for foreign partner VET schools in our region. In 2018 we applied for the first time for Erasmus+ funding in order to extend our international programs to the growing number of disadvantaged youth at our institution. Through the project of building a “Bridge of Understanding and Encounter” we managed to provide participants from these groups with motivating opportunities addressing their special skill development needs in a comprehensive and integrated manner. At the same time we were able to deepen the cooperation with our partner school reaffirming the commitment of both school communities to actively collaborate providing opportunities to learners at both schools. Here's a video of the project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6VoGebUnQI&frags=pl%2Cwn The ongoing project ‘Promoting Vocational Skills through Craftsmanship for an Integrative Europe` is aimed at improving the employability by building skills of disadvantaged youth who participate in a practical VAT-building project. Young people seeking employment within Germany’s dual-training system and on the job market strengthen their professional skills through their participation in highly motivating practical project entailing the integration of several areas of learning and addressing social and intercultural skills, as well as the motivational and attitudinal dimension of the employability of disadvantaged and marginalized young people. At the same time the project deepens the cooperation between two VAT institutions and benefits immediately a center providing support for people with special needs. More information on our project blog on eTwinning: https://twinspace.etwinning.net/96795/pages/page/775704 In the framework of the recently initiated European strategy process, we hope to strengthen our international orientation, enhance our approaches to digital learning/teaching and improve our work with marginalized and vulnerable groups.
