Organisation Description
Founded in 1979, “ALEXE MARIN” technological High School (LTAM) offers attractive qualifications in the areas searched on the labour market, attracting pupils from all areas of the county, especially rural, considered disadvantaged. Currently, there are 952 pupils learning at LTAM (85% come from rural areas, 60% pupils with reduced opportunities), which follow various forms of high school education: day, evening courses, vocational school, in normal and dual system, school of foremen and post-high, with 68 teachers. Technical areas are: mechanical, electrical and construction. LTAM’s mission is to promote an open and flexible education, able to ensure equal opportunities for young people in the eastern part of the Olt County and access to all levels and forms of education, from the perspective of skills and competences to achieve personal, professional success, and to develop interest in education and permanent emancipation. Not only on the limited needs of a profession, but also on the availability of continuous adaptation to labour market requirements. Slatina, the town where LTAM is, has a powerful industrial platform. Companies like ALRO SA (the largest vertically integrated aluminium producer in Europe), Pirelli Tyres, Prysmian and TMK-Artrom account for a substantial chunk of the economy and industry of Slatina city.
