Organisation Description
The Marianao Institute was founded in 1982 as a Vocational Training centre. In 1988 the center became a Secondary Education Institute too. It is a center located in Sant Boi de Llobregat, approximately 16 km from Barcelona. The population of Marianao, Can Paulet, is over 30,000 inhabitants and its socioeconomic level is medium-medium and medium-low. The area has a very good network of services and transport, train and buses that facilitate to commute.
The center has about 89 teachers and about 12000 students, the educational stages of our center include the ages of 12 to 25 years or in some cases later ages with European levels 4 and 5. Three stages of studies are taught at the center. The first stage consists of Compulsory Secondary Education (CSE) .In the second stage, which corresponds to post-compulsory secondary studies, the baccalaureate degrees are taught in the modalities of Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences and Professional Training that includes three families professionals: Commerce/business, IT branches and Mechanical Manufacturing with IT programms such as CAD.
Among other porjects such as Green Schools, our centre is committed to Erasmus and DUAL projects in which the students have the opportunity to do their compulsory internships abroad and work and study at the same time in companies we are collaborating with implementing the DUAL EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM.
