Organisation Description
Julio Antonio is a public Secondary School located in the municipality of Móra d’Ebre, in the north-east of Spain, in the autonomous community of
Catalonia, next to the Ebre river. The school has about 70 staff (57 are teachers) and serves a population of about 510 students. Most of the students
come from small villages nearby. We provide different types of education: Secondary Compulsory Education (11 to 16 years), Pre-university courses
(16 to 18 years), Vocational Training and Higher Education (16 to 18 years). The 20% of the families have economic and social problems and receive
benefit from financial support, the 20% of students have learning difficulties, the 7.2% of students do not finish Secondary Compulsory School and
attend training and insertion programs.
Our center also provides space for an Official Language School and an Adult School. We have also asked for an ECHE letter and K102 grand for next
school year involving Vocational Training students and teachers.
Currently, we are working on an eTwinning project with five European partners about: “Christmas and tradition” and another one called: “We like to
live in a rural area”.
Our school is placed in a rural environment, where agriculture and livestock are the main sources of income and rural-urban migration is gradually
growing. Therefore, as teachers, we feel the need to persuade our pupils not to leave for the big cities and appreciate much more their rural territory
and all the possibilities it can offer. For this reason, a project of this kind will be very valuable for our school since it will represent an educational
experience at the international level, an opportunity to develop the European dimension of the school and establish sustainable cooperation with other
partner schools. Moreover, the school will have the opportunity to increase international network, learn “by doing” through a range of activities and
experiences aimed towards promoting higher students self- esteem, increasing students’ involvement and achieving greater cohesion among
teachers, students, and their families.
Our Erasmus+ team is passionate and dedicated. It is composed of members who have the right combination of skills, abilities and personality types
to achieve collaborative tension and cooperative relationship and who have specific roles in the school, such as:
– Secretary of the school (budgetary control and maintenance of the accounts)
– Teachers from different areas such as English, Art, P.E, Mathematics, Science, ICT and History.
If the project coordinator leaves that position in the future, the European project team will have members of this project, who can assume the
coordinating position.
