Los Cerros is a public school in which there are, secondary, VET, high and adults academic levels. There are more than 1400 students and around 120 teachers. We feature vocational fields such as, electronics, computer, electricity, telecommunications, physical sports activities, administration and finance, marketing, hostelry and tourism. Additionally, we are a bilingual school widely experienced in Erasmus+ projects. It is located in the Northwest part of the renaissance medieval city of Úbeda occupying a total area of 14,038 m2 with five different buildings, green areas and free of architectural barriers. Many of our students come from our city and others come from towns in the region, since Úbeda is the district center of the area. Towns and villages such as Rus, Canena, El Donadío, El Marmol, Santa Eulalia, they are eminently agricultural populations whose inhabitants have a low academic preparation and a low school performance that corresponds to a very high school dropout rate. Regarding the students from Úbeda, we find the ones that come from an affluent area with great academic expectations and the ones from a disadvantage class that have conflictive relationships, high dropout rate and educational failure. Throughout the years, teachers and staff from IES Los Cerros have been extremely involved in European projects. It is amazingly striking that the management department is extremely involved in European projects and the support to achieve success is enviable. Besides, We are keen on new educational approaches, in fact we have vested Google for educations apps in all our educational fields, from management to students. Each student and teacher has a corporate account designed to host and distribute digital documents, communication and collaboration through cloud-based technology.
