  • The Erasmus experience of this centre Our school has taken part in Erasmus+ for 10 years. An average of 10 students per year have participated in work placements in France, Portugal, Belgium, Poland, Ireland, Lituania, Estonia, Denmark, Germany, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Netherlands, Cyprus and UK-based companies within KA102, KA103, KA121 and KA131 Erasmus+ programmes. We have also received visits from diverse participants in the Erasmus+ projects. Some of the employees of our partner companies have visited our school to make first contact with the students. We have also welcomed Czech Republic, German, Greek, French, Norwegian, Polish, Belgian, Dutch, Swedish and Italian teams from other projects to our hometown Valencia. This hospitality is key to the project and an enriching source of bonds and contacts with other European schools. We aim to exchange visits with partners in our programme, as we understand it is mutual trust and continued relationship building that will ensure the continuity of our project.

Organisation Description

IES Abastos is a school in Valencia located in a former market designed by Javier Goerlich Lleó.

The market was originally intended for goods supply, but its central location led to its transfer to a different site.

The northern wing of the market was refurbished in the early 90s and now houses IES Abastos, which has over 1800 students per year and offers vocational training courses, including blended learning diplomas.

The school has won awards for its entrepreneurial projects and has organized technology-focused events such as robot competitions and training courses on home automation.
