Organisation Description
The Hans Freudenberg School (HFS) is a vocational and technical school in Weinheim that offers a wide range of educational programs, from secondary school diplomas to high school diplomas. At the Technical High School (Technisches Gymnasium), our students can choose between environmental technology, mechatronics, and technology and management. In this type of school, our students learn English (CEFR level B1-B2) and Spanish as a new foreign language (CEFR level A2). In dual vocational training, we offer courses in electrical engineering, metalworking, automotive technology, and personal care (i.e. hairdressing). All students are taught in professional English.
The Hans-Freudenberg-Schule has been newly renovated and is well equipped, so that nothing stands in the way of progressive learning. Other special features include our SmartFactory, 3D printers, VR glasses, and classes equipped with tablets. In vocational training, our students benefit from modern workshops in our school building. The HFS is a STEM school and has also been awarded the title of “Digital School.”
The Rhine-Neckar district, to which Weinheim belongs, is an exceptionally strong economic location. Our most important cooperation partner is the Freudenberg Group, headquartered in Weinheim. We also maintain good cooperation with a large number of external partners from the region.
We have been accredited for the Erasmus+ program since 2024 and have already launched a project on sustainability/solar energy with a school in Spain. The project language was English.
For the 2025/2026 school year, we are looking for a partner school for a mobility program with students from our Technical High School and vocational school (aged approx. 17-19, predominantly male students) – preferably in a Spanish-speaking country. This is because we are currently trying to strengthen the subject of Spanish at our school. However, due to the language level, the project language must be English. We are also open to partner schools from other countries.
