Organisation Description

The Flensburg Chamber of Skilled Crafts is one of 53 chambers of skilled crafts in Germany. It represents the interests of the entire skilled crafts sector in northern and western Schleswig-Holstein. The chamber district includes the districts of Schleswig-Flensburg, Nordfriesland, Rendsburg-Eckernförde and Dithmarschen as well as the independent city of Flensburg.

The tasks include keeping the register of craftsmen (Handwerksrolle) and the register of apprentices (Lehrlingsrolle) as well as conducting examinations in vocational training and further training (journeyman and master craftsman examinations). The Chamber also houses the welding technology course center of the DVS* Flensburg district association (*DVS: Deutscher Verband für Schweißtechnik und verwandte Verfahren e.V.), which offers courses in various welding processes as part of adult education and for apprentices as part of inter-company apprenticeship training.
