We participated in Erasmus+ funded mobilities under KA1 funding streams, Broadening Horizons in STEM Education 2 and European Football Development 2. Through these streams the College was involved with funded programmes in the Netherlands, Germany and Portugal for a number of years and have developed strong links in those regions, particularly in the Netherlands. The opportunities have helped to provide students with the scope of gaining invaluable experience and skills by learning the cultures, customs, languages and work ethics of other countries.

Organisation Description

Gower College Swansea was formed in 2010 with the merger of Gorseinon College and Swansea College. It is the leading A Level College in Wales with over 40 A Level subjects with many students progressing to top UK Universities. It also has over 40 subjects for our vocational courses, which are designed to lead to specific professions. From STEM subjects to Business, Sport to Engineering there is something for everyone.

Our Chief Executive, Kelly Fountain (former Principal), and Paul Kift, Principal (former student of the College) lead the Senior Leadership Team in the strategic direction of the College. Their new vision statement communicates the long term direction of the College “Inspiring Ambitious Futures”, reflecting the commitment to helping every single learner to aspire to reach their highest potential.

Winners of the British Council Award for Internationalism at the Association of Colleges Beacon Awards 2023, the College has a dedicated International Office and has been working on International Mobility programmes for nearly two decades. This has enabled us to embed internationalism into teaching across the curriculum, and it is an integral component of the international strategy. International activities are at the forefront of our agenda, allowing us to be a truly global College. Working with strategic partners such as Humber College Canada, ROC Midden in the Netherlands and school partners in China, supports the Colleges international strategy, fostering a culture of equality for all. The College has recently been invited to join the NAVE 2 partnership with organisations from Netherlands, Finland, Spain, Italy and Belgium.
