Escola Profissional da Nazaré, which is represented by Nazaré Forma, is a vocational school situated in a fishing village in the centre of Portugal, by the coast. It is a school which is pedagogically and financially certified by the Portuguese Ministry of Education.
EPN has the mission to answer to students’ needs regarding education in economic activities that are expanding in the Nazaré region. Sports, Hospitality, Social Services, Computer Use and Cooking are the school’s main areas. The school intends to promote and develop vocational education, preparing students for a qualified, professional activity. To do so, school and community come together through the job market, partnerships, cooperation protocols and traineeships so that young people are prepared to integrate professionally in an adequate way.
Thus, the school intends to grant young people necessary tools and skills for their future profession. The school also promotes a healthy and human environment, helping students to grow, to respect themselves and others and to develop skills which will enable them to be successful at school, at work and relations. It also promotes an inclusive education and values difference as an enriching factor to the school community. To do so, the school has qualified teachers and staff members who work together so students, aged 14 to 21, feel at home and motivated.
The school is promoting a teaching/learning process that fits the country, the European Union and economic agents’ future demands and challenges. It is training highly, qualified professionals who will intervene in the community, the region and the country’s economic activities, as well as, in the European Union.
