  • The Erasmus experience of this centre We work for many years with vocational education and training sector and with Erasmus Programme. Usually we send teachers and students to a foreign country, where they can have a work experience during 1 or 2 months. Actually we are also interested in receiving students and teachers, for the same experiences in our country. We have a very good network with enterprises and our school has also restaurant and housing canteen and accommodation.

Organisation Description

The Centro de Promoção Social is a Private Institution of Social Solidarity that offers community services: nursery; Day Center; Home Support Service; Vocational Training Center and the Professional School of Carvalhais (EPC). EPC was created in 1991 seeking to contribute to regional development through the training of qualified labour. It provides a training offer that has been recognized by economic, social and political agents, which contributes to the rapid insertion of students into the labour market. This academic year, the following technical courses for professional training are in operation: Automobile Mechatronics; Aesthetic and Well-Being Massage; Computer Equipment Management; Catering (Restaurant/Bar and Kitchen/Pastry variants); Thermalism; Management Informatics; Multimedia; Tourism. Between 2007 and 2010, 5 International Work Camps were held, financed by the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, welcoming young Europeans to carry out intercultural activities. It implemented 5 European mobility projects – either under the Leonardo Da Vinci program or, more recently, within ERASMUS+ – namely: MOVEON’12; MOVEON’13; MOVEON’14; IMPROVING PROFESSIONAL AND SOCIAL SKILLS IN EUROPE I and II.
