  • The Erasmus experience of this centre The European adventure started in 2010 with the challenge set by one of our teachers to submit an application to the former GRUNDTVIG line programme. The experience was so enriching that since then until 2022 we have 13 approved projects in various sectors that have allowed us to draw up a European development plan that integrates our educational project. We have covered all the old programmes (Grundtvig, Comenius and Leonardo da Vinci) and more recently the various actions of the Erasmus+ programme (KA1 and KA2). Over the years we have built up a wide network of partners at the European level, we have provided individual and group mobility to our trainees and staff and we have welcomed several participants from various countries to Portugal. We are currently part of the European network of accredited schools for the school education and vocational education and training sectors.

Organisation Description

The “Agrupamento de Escolas de Vale de Ovil” is a Portuguese educational organization with teaching, learning and assessment responsibilities in the sectors of School Education (SCH) and Vocational Education and Training (VET).

The school provides all levels of education in Portugal, from pre-school to secondary school for a total of around 1000 students.
At the secondary level, it has around 300 students who have opted for a vocational training course.  With a varied professional offer, there are three areas in which the school has invested in recent years, equipping us with the knowledge and skills to provide high-quality training. These areas are Catering, IT and Electronics.

Our courses have a strong practical component, either through training modules in a school context or through on-the-job training in companies and organizations outside the school.
The organization of these internships is the responsibility of the school staff, who draw up a training plan in conjunction with the host entities.
