Organisation Description

IES Luís Seoane is a public secondary and vocational school in Pontevedra, on the Atlantic coast of Galicia (north-west Spain), run by the regional education authority, the Xunta de Galicia. We have around 1,300 students and 100 teachers.

We are an Erasmus+ accredited organisation in school education and in higher vocational education and training, and a member of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet). Mobility for our intermediate-level VET students currently runs through a consortium coordinated by the Provincial Council of Pontevedra (Deputación de Pontevedra), and we have applied for our own accreditation at that level as well.

The school combines lower and upper secondary education (ages 12–18) with a large Vocational Education and Training department in business administration and commerce. Our VET programmes (EQF 3 to 5) include Administration and Finance, Administrative Management, Executive Assistance, International Trade, Sales and Retail Space Management, Commercial Activities, Transport and Logistics, and a specialisation course in Digital Marketing (SEO/SEM and social media). Several are also available as distance learning for adult learners.

Two features shape our international profile: a three-year double-qualification pathway combining International Trade with Transport and Logistics, and modules taught in English — International Transport of Goods and International Means of Payment — in our bilingual higher VET programmes.

We are open to teacher job shadowing, student exchanges, traineeship placements for our VET students, and future KA2 partnerships.
