Organisation Description
About Us
The Vocational and Technical Schools Walsrode (Berufsbildende Schulen Walsrode) serve as the central competence centre for vocational education in the Heidekreis region. We provide young people with individual education pathways—from catch-up qualifications to subject-specific higher secondary schools and general university entrance qualifications.
As a “European School in Lower Saxony” (title held since 1 August 2023), we embrace our strong commitment to international cooperation and European education quality.
Our Vision & Mobility
We aim to build a sustainable network of partner schools that jointly organise overseas internships, learn from one another, and pool local and European resources. In doing so, we bring our experience in mobility programmes, our regional business contacts, and our pedagogical support expertise to the table.
What We Offer to the Network
- An established institution with diverse educational programmes (including technology, health & social care, business & administration) and multiple career pathways.
- A network of regional companies and organisations in the Heidekreis economy that we make available for internship placements—ideal for overseas mobility.
- Professional structures for support and preparation of mobility (selection, contracts, learning agreements, follow-up).
- Our approach: we are open-minded, collaborative and dedicated to creating mobility experiences that are more than just exchanges—they are an investment in the future.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking partners who:
- Are open to close collaboration in planning, implementing and following up on overseas internships.
- Have access to regional or local companies and want to jointly develop learning placements with us.
- Are interested in a long-term network—not just one-off projects, but a reliable, mutually enriching partnership.
- Bring or are ready to build experience in mobility work and want to co-create best practices with us.
Our Special Strengths
- Modern, practice-oriented teaching and learning offerings in technical, business and social fields.
- A strong advisory and coaching system that supports learners in career orientation and transition to vocational training.
- Regional rootedness: our school is embedded in the Heidekreis community, knowledgeable about the local economy and an excellent basis for international networking.
Contact & Next Steps
If you are interested—let’s connect! We look forward to your contact so we can shape a network together that empowers young people for Europe and beyond.
